Setting a porn novel in the Aztec times doesn’t make it historical. Culturally biased and Eurocentric, but still I found it worth the read, simply because of the academic richness of Nahuatl phrases and concepts.

Even the explicit and numerous sexual jenninggs, which Jennings describes with pornographic and genuinely creepy detail, pale next to the rape and violence perpetrated by Cortez’s armies as depicted in the later chapters.
I found the storyline less interesting, however. His fascination with the country and its people comes across wonderfully in AZTEC, and his genuine joy at telling the story makes me come back to it over and over again.

I’d say if you’re interested in this History the book is well worth your time.

This stressed out all the attendees those who were actually my friends because many of them are friends with jennkngs only because of books, so they felt like they had to bring a book I would actually love. However, jdnnings drama is top notch and there are times when you must stop reading because you are overwhelmed by the spectacle of the story. Mixtli’s life is plagued by a succession of reprehensible women: I do recommend it, though, to lover’s of historical fiction. I really don’t think anyone would actually brag about having an erection whislt they were drawing a woman who was being raped by another woman right in front of their face. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
